Mission Statement

My mission is to rediscover, authenticate, and meticulously catalogue the scattered works of my great-grandfather John Larke—an artist whose creative legacy has been obscured by time. Through provenance research, archival investigation, and curatorial rigor, I seek to reconstruct his artistic narrative and situate his oeuvre within its rightful historical and cultural context. This endeavor is an act of love, preservation and of reclamation—reviving a voice so it is not lost to history and ensuring that his vision endures for future generations. By creating a living archive, I aim to honor his artistic lineage and contribute meaningfully to the broader discourse of art history and intergenerational memory.

My great-grandfather, John Larke, wished for his work to be shared for enjoyment, not for commercial gain. In honoring his memory, this website serves as both an archive of his work and a tribute to his legacy. We ask that all who appreciate his contributions do so in the spirit of respect for his wishes, ensuring that his work remains free for all to enjoy, now and in the future.

"The Larke's Nest"

Discovered through examining Larke's drawings. A sketch of the interior of his home revealed. He affectionately reffered to his home as the "Larkes Nest".
